Having a baby and 2 other young kids is the best, but I mean, life is busy. This summer has been wild with three kids but also nice and relaxing with lots of family time at home.
Here are some essentials that have been helping me fit in self-care when time is tight, and things that have been keeping Zaza and Townes occupied this summer so I can soak up Bond in this special newborn stage.
My Postpartum Lifesavers
Ice Roller: First thing in the morning, throughout the day, in the evening you’ll catch me ice rolling. It’s a nice pick-me-up and the depuffing happens instantly.
Everything Spray: After I cleanse in the morning I love to use this mist. It’s hydrating, healing and you really can use it for everything. Use it as a toner, after a day in the sun, post-shave or as a wound remedy. (Use code SKINNY.)
Branch Basics: If there was ever a time to go non-toxic, it’s with a new baby. From the cleaning concentrate to the laundry detergent, I feel confident using this around the house and on all of my kids’ clothes. (Use code SKINNY15.)
Beauty Salt: Now that I have 3 kids, I’m looking to streamline more than ever. Knowing that I get 3 supplements in one efficient scoop and that I’m hydrating properly with beauty benefits is a crucial way to start my day.
Claw clip: When I’m holding my newborn, I want my hair out of his face and off my neck and shoulders. Especially if they’re nursing or sleeping, the last thing you need is your hair tickling them awake. I love these claw clips because they’re big, easy to use and super cute to have in all your bags or around the house.
Pajamas: I’m a pajama connoisseur and I really stocked up before the baby came. These ones are so comfy (I have tons) and make you feel cute when you’re hanging around the house in a baby daze. I adore this collab with Eden Rock.
You can shop everything here. I’m especially in love with the pajamas and recently got these ones too. They’re so cute and gave me and Zaza and little matching moment on our Aspen trip.

Kid-Approved Activities
Like I said, we’ve been home a lot except for our trip to Aspen. We’ve been going for walks, playing in the backyard, gardening, Townes goes to tumble class and we read a lot of books. On top of that, baking, cooking and just relaxing, here are some things Zaza and Townes loved to do this summer:
Scrapbooking
You can buy kits or go to a local shop and choose fun pens, stickers, scissors and make your own scrap books or vision boards. My kids loved gluing their own pictures and magazine cut outs into their books.
Zaza loved it a couple years ago when Elsa froze all her toys. You fill a bowl of water, put some toys in it and then put it in the freezer. Take the ice block out of the bowl and give them some water or a kid-safe tool to chip away at it. Keeps them busy and it feels magical when they’re younger.
Townes loves dinosaurs so any activity involving them is a winner: sorting set, puzzles, stained glass painting kit.
This potion kit, kinetic sand, Lego and anything from Happi Crafts are all good activities too.
If you’re newly postpartum or just need some idea to occupy your kids, I hope this post helped. If you have any postpartum essentials or fun activities for kids please let me know below.
