In Season 2 of the Paramount+ sequence Tulsa King, Sylvester Stallone dons a watch that immediately communicates “this can be a watch man.”
Created by author/director/actor Taylor Sheridan, Tulsa King is a mob drama that takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma (with tie-ins to Kansas Metropolis and New York).
Dwight ‘The Common” Manfredi is performed by Sylvester Stallone, an old-school mafia member who served 25 years in jail. After being exiled by the New York mob, he units up store in Tulsa.
Stallone is a critical watch collector in actual life and made headlines this previous summer time for considerably controversially auctioning a uncommon Patek Philippe application-only timepiece, the Grandmaster Chime at Sotheby’s.
So it’s not shocking that he would select such a well-curated and simply recognizable timepiece for Tulsa King. He’s seen carrying a classic model of the devoted Polo remake that Piaget debuted earlier this yr, referred to as the Polo 79.
Coincidentally, the fashionable Polo 79 received the Iconic Watch Prize this month on the 2024 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (which requires a charge to enter). Sly’s selection exhibits impeccable style and is way preferable to the all-too-common unrecognizable dummy prop watch.
